Typical Tour Itinerary

Tours begin with a walk through Times Square and New York’s world famous Broadway district - NYC cabs racing by, theaters all around in this fast pace, high energy environment.  Then it's time to take the first of two subway rides, exiting the subway next to Central Park.  Immediately, you will notice a change in the scenery, pace and photo opportunities.  The stroll is through the Southeast corner of Central Park, capturing amazing photos of you in the Park and the NYC skyline as a backdrop.  Then the tour exits the Park and you'll walk thru the exclusive Upper East Side neighborhood lined with historic townhouses and brownstones.  The area was initially settled by super wealthy New Yorkers, including the Vanderbilts and Rockefellers.  While this may not be on your itinerary for NYC, your guide is exposing you to an off the beaten path side of NYC.  Naturally, he or she will give some history and capture you in wonderful photos along the way.  Then you take a second subway ride to the Brooklyn Bridge.  The views and photos from the bridge are breathtaking.

The 2 hour tour will generally conclude at the Brooklyn Bridge, at which time you will receive advice from your guide on how to plan the rest of your day.  Perhaps you want to continue over the Bridge and explore Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Bridge Park or DUMBO.  Maybe you want to take a short walk near the Bridge to see the 9/11 Memorial and go up One World Observatory (aka The World Trade Center).  Perhaps, as you are now well versed in the subway, you head over to the High Line or down to The Staten Island Ferry.  Whatever you choose, your guide will not leave you hanging.  You will get clear and concise directions.

Of course, guides can customize the tour, but you must keep in mind the logistics of NYC and the time parameters of your tour.  Your guide will do the best to accommodate your wishes, keeping in mind what's realistic to accomplish.  The basic tour is already fairly ambitious - and whatever route and locations you select,  the guide will want to make sure to maximize the time together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the tour operate in inclement weather? -- If there is a light rain, drizzle or mist, the tour will operate.  If there is heavier rain or snow, you and your guide will try to reschedule.  If unable to do so, you will be refunded.

How will we get around the city? -- For the most part, it's walking.  However, as noted above, there will be one or more subway rides during the tour, at your expense.  The cost is $2.75 per person, per ride.  Your guide chooses the subway over a cab as it is more economical, a better use of the time and a true NYC experience.  Naturally, photos of you on the subway will be taken as well.

Are the photos included in the tour price? -- Of course.  You will receive a photo gallery and zip file within 48 hours containing all your images.  The 2 hour tour includes at least 75 photos at high resolution (about 3 to 4 MB per photo).

Will the emailed images be too large a file to receive? -- No, both the gallery and zip file will be like any regular size email you receive every day.

Will there be an opportunity to use a bathroom during the tour? -- Please try to take care of that business before the tour.  However, if needed, your guide will try to find you a restroom.  This will be easier in the first 30-45 minutes of the tour near Times Square and Central Park then when you are standing in the middle of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Is the tour just about the photos? -- No.  These guide/photographers are very knowledgable about NYC and can give loads of insights during the tour.  You will leave knowing more about New York City history as well as getting ideas to make the most of the remainder of your stay.

Is it OK to bring bags? -- No.  Please do not bring bags you do not want in the photos...such as shopping bags.  That will clutter the photos.
