Tour Itinerary

Your tour will start in SOHO.  Initially settled in the 1600s, during the 1850s buildings were constructed with wrought iron.  The area has many cast iron buildings and cobblestone streets.  The neighborhood is both historic and picturesque.  Very iconic NYC backdrops.

Then you will take the subway to the Brooklyn Bridge.  Your guide/photographer will assist you in understanding how the NYC subway operates.  This will be helpful information for the rest of your holiday in NYC.

After a stroll at the bridge, the remainder of the tour consists of walking through Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Bridge Park and the DUMBO neighborhood.  The tour ends in Brooklyn, but your guide will provide specific directions to help you get to your next destination.

Location Visits

SOHO - A famously gritty and art-fueled neighborhood of the 1970s and 1980s, it is now one of NYC's prime shopping districts.  Your tour begins in SoHo and strolls along the cobblestone streets surrounded by the characteristic wrought iron buildings of the 1850s.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS - Directly across the East River from Manhattan, this historic residential neighborhood features cobblestoned tree-lined streets with a picturesque promenade and a stunning view of Manhattan.

BROOKLYN BRIDGE - Completed in 1883, the bridge is one of the oldest cable-stayed/suspension bridges in the world.  This designated landmark offers spectacular cityscape views and makes for an inspiring photographic backdrop.

BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK - The park is an 85-acre greenspace on the Brooklyn side of the East River.  It has revitalized over 1.3 miles of Brooklyn's Post-Industrial waterfront.  The stunning views of Lower Manhattan will take your breath away.

DUMBO (Down Under he Manhattan Bridge Overpass) - DUMBO is a unique border region between Brooklyn and Manhattan.  Sandwiched between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, you'll see tyhe intermingling of Brooklyn and Manhattan characteristics along the exposed Belgian block streets.  Historically a ferry landing filled with industrial and warehouse buildings, DUMBO is now home to a number of art galleries and technology startups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the tour operate in inclement weather? -- If there is a light rain, drizzle or mist, the tour will operate.  If there is heavier rain or snow, you and your guide will try to reschedule.  If unable to do so, you will be refunded.

How will we get around the city? -- For the most part, it's walking.  However, as noted above, there will be one or more subway rides during the tour, at your expense.  The cost is $3.00 per person, per ride.  Your guide chooses the subway over a cab as it is more economical, a better use of the time and a true NYC experience.  Naturally, photos of you on the subway will be taken as well.

Are the photos included in the tour price? -- Of course.  You will receive a photo gallery and zip file within 48 hours containing all your images.  The 2 hour tour includes at least 75 photos at high resolution (about 3 to 4 MB per photo).

Will the emailed images be too large a file to receive? -- No, both the gallery and zip file will be like any regular size email you receive every day.

Will there be an opportunity to use a bathroom during the tour? -- Please try to take care of that business before the tour.  However, if needed, your guide will try to find you a restroom.

Is the tour just about the photos? -- No.  These guide/photographers are very knowledgable about NYC and can give loads of insights during the tour.  You will leave knowing more about New York City history as well as getting ideas to make the most of the remainder of your stay.

Is it OK to bring bags? -- No.  Please do not bring bags you do not want in the photos...such as shopping bags.  That will clutter the photos.
