Take a step back in time on New York's only tall ship. From her spacious main deck or raised quarter deck, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island and other gems of the harbor.

A replica of the lumber-hauling schooners that drove America's industry more than a century ago, Clipper City was built in the mid-1980s using plans purchased from the Smithsonian. Designed with her new cargo in mind (i.e. you), her decks are spacious and comfortable, with ample seating, a full bar amidships and a raised quarter deck back aft that allows for unparalleled views of the city and its harbor.

Few people ever have the chance to sail aboard a tall ship. The topsail schooner Clipper City allows you to do just that. An imposing 158-ft. long, with masts and rigging reaching up 120 feet from the water, New York’s largest and most impressive sailing vessel can accommodate up to 134 passengers.

COVID-19 Protocols Updates

These are completely open-air experiences.  While this environment makes the transmission of Covid-19 unlikely, the Captain and crew closely monitor New York state guidelines for any updates on best practices.

What to Wear

  • Passengers are asked to wear only soft-soled shoes such as sneakers, deck shoes, flip-flops or sandals. Heels and boots can scuff the deck. Bare feet are also fine.
  • The temperature can be cooler out on the water so dress accordingly.
  • Light skirts and wind do not always mix!

Food & Drinks

  • There is a cash bar on board (beer, white wine, Prosecco, soda, juice and water).
  • No beverages may be brought aboard by guests.
  • You may bring food aboard for your sail, but stay away from red sauces, potato chips or anything else that could stain the deck. Please throw away any trash at the end of your sail.
