All Day Hop-on Hop-off & 9-11 Access Pass in New York Description

How It Works

Your chosen booking time on the availability calendar is your requested departure time for the Hop-on/Hop-off Water Taxi, and while not a guaranteed reserved time, it is unusual to not be able to depart at the time requested. If your reqeusted time is unavailable, you will depart on the next regularly scheduled departure.

35 minutes after your departure from Pier 84, the Water Taxi arrives at Battery Park, where you will disembark for the 9/11 Memorial site. Your timed entry tickets for the Memorial will be 40 minutes later. Following your visit to the Memorial, you may rejoin the Hop-on/Hop-off Water Taxi on one of its subsequent stops at Battery Park.

PLEASE NOTE: Your tickets for the 9/11 Memorial are timed tickets and you will only be able to enter the Memorial at the designated time.

National 9/11 Memorial

The National September 11 Memorial is a tribute of remembrance and honor to the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center site, near Shanksville, Pa., and at the Pentagon, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing in February 1993.

The Memorial's twin reflecting pools are each nearly an acre in size and feature the largest manmade waterfalls in the North America. The pools sit within the footprints where the Twin Towers once stood. Architect Michael Arad and landscape architect Peter Walker created the Memorial design selected from a global design competition that included more than 5,200 entries from 63 nations.

The names of every person who died in the 2001 and 1993 attacks are inscribed into bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil and the greatest single loss of rescue personnel in American history.

The entrance to the 9/11 Memorial Museum, a large pavilion with a glass atrium, houses two enormous tridents within its glass atrium. The tridents are artifacts from the steel façade of the original 1 WTC, also known as the North Tower. Although the pavilion will be inaccessible to 9/11 Memorial visitors, the majestic tridents will be visible from the plaza. The pavilion will open to the public when the 9/11 Memorial Museum opens in 2012.

Until the 9/11 Memorial Museum opens, construction will continue at the WTC site and along West Street. Millions of visitors are expected in the first year of operation. Proper planning ensures that the visitor experience is safe and meaningful. While the 9/11 Memorial's visitor capacity is affected by surrounding construction projects, a temporary timed reservation system is being used. The reservation system, used by other institutions with similar, limited capacities such as the Statue of Liberty and the Washington Monument, will help reduce potential wait times and ensure as many people as possible are able to visit. Timed reservations are required - and have been acquired for guests on these Hop-on/Hop-off Water Taxi cruises.
