Direct from its smash-hit, critically acclaimed pre-Broadway engagement at Paper Mill Playhouse, NEWSIES heads to Broadway where it will now headline for a special limited engagement of 101 performances.
Inspired by the real life "Newsboy Strike of 1899," NEWSIES is the story of Jack Kelly (Jeremy Jordan) and his band of teenage newspaper boys who courageously took on publishing tycoons Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst in a battle for justice and fair pay.
These themes not only make for exciting theatre, but provide a great educational tool to reach today's younger generation that is likely unaware of the musical's rich historic basis. You are sure to be moved by this story of teenage youth standing tall against impossible odds.
